Removed to Alloway, Wayne, NY. in 1829; Villanova, Chaut., Ny., 1832; and afterwards to Cherry Creek, followed his trade from 1826-40 when he contracted to build several miles of the Erie Railroad and in 1841 he built two miles of the Erie Canal and in both instances failed to get his pay; he removed to Mi. and established a woolen manufactory at Jonesville, Hillsdale, Me. and carried on a large and profitable business; in 1848 he built a 2nd factory and bought a large farm near Hillsdale, Mi.; in 1864 sold his factory and farm and settled in Hillsdale, Mi. where he d. 21 Aug. 1886
